Scope of Service: The Simulation Engineer role is within our Whole Vehicle Engineering - Energy Management department reporting to the Functional Manager and is responsible for full-vehicle simulations to support CO2, Energy Consumption, EV Range and Performance Prognoses activities to ensure the plausibility and achievement of project targets. Key responsibilities include:
Key Deliverables:
Develop, manage and validate full-vehicle simulation models to support all CO2, consumption & performance simulation activities
Sensitivity analysis and identification of measures to optimise energy consumption
Comparison of simulation results to vehicle measurements and relevant analysis
Collaboration with experts in engineering functions and group development partners
Plan and execute vehicle correlation testing to confirm validity of models
Evaluation of real word fuel economy and consumption
Key Skills/Experience:
Strong MATLAB & Simulink skillset and demonstrable experience in using the tools
Demonstrable experience with AVL products and in using calibration/diagnostics tools e.g. INCA
Sound understanding of conventional and electrified powertrains and their interaction with vehicle systems
Good understanding of PHEV & EV vehicle architectures and control strategy
Knowledge and experience in CO2, Energy Consumption and EV range testing
German language proficiency is advantageous
