Our Oil & Gas based client is looking to add a Project Construction Supervisor to join their production facility based at their Teesside processing plant.
The role will be a long-term contract opportunity which has been classified inside IR35. This role will be site based with no remote working available. You must have existing right to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
Purpose: Provide Project Supervision support to the Strategic Projects team in the safe delivery of multi-discipline project work at Teesside site.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role
Be a Safety Leader, complying with UK legislative/regulatory and corporate requirements.
Drive the safe and efficient execution of project construction activities.
Provide project team with construction technical support on engineering best practice.
Liaise with the project team and appropriate internal/external stakeholders on construction activities.
Support functional budgets via cost control and efficiency suggestions.
Encourage people/team work interaction and be a role model for Company SPIRIT core values and behaviours.
Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of project construction activities.
Role Expectations
Comply with UK Legislative, Regulatory and Company Safety requirements
Actively supports the Cardinal Rules, PSI and Life Saving Rules initiative.
Adhere to site policies, procedures, rules, IMPACT and site Management of Change Systems.
Recognise COMAH regulations and Process Safety implications.
Support compliance with legislation and corporate requirements for construction activities.
Responsible for ensuring the completion / response to applicable Hazard Recognitions and supports Incident Investigations.
Comply with communication of all safety-related issues to team members and any training requirement to ensure compliance and understanding.
Collate, coordinate and participate in Accident/Incident Investigations as required.
Core duties and responsibilities
Monitor Contractor compliance with relevant CDM regulations throughout project construction activities.
Monitor compliance with company site specific working procedures and policies during construction activities.
Provide construction input during project design and planning phases.
Support construction reviews/studies and task risk assessments.
Support the identification and provision of pre-construction information to the Principle Designer and Principal Contractor.
Liaise with site resources, Principle Designer, Principle Contractor and other contractors on construction matters.
Provide the project team with regular updates on construction progress, performance and areas of concern.
Provide first point of contact for construction TQ's.
Lead and participate in project safety walkthroughs and audits with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure modifications / changes are controlled and highlighted to the project team.
Support safe and efficient commissioning activities in accordance with appropriate standards.
Ensure work scope is not expanded or changed unless the appropriate process is followed and approved.
Represent the Company to site visitors, contractors, and suppliers.
Deliver safety briefs.

Extensive Operation & Maintenance experience in the oil & gas industry or other regulated industry - Essential
Working knowledge of COMAH - Essential
Good understanding of planning principles - Essential
Familiarity of working on a continuous process plant - Essential
Effective interpersonal, leadership skills and supervisory competence - Essential
Ability to use PC and Microsoft packages - Essential
Good reporting, communication and workload management - Essential
Appropriate Physical and Mental Capability to undertake the role - Essential
