Job Role: Pastry SousChef
PRE-OPENINGROLE
Due tothe current VISA RESTRICTIONS only candidates from within the UAEwith a current UAE Residence Visa can be considered for thisvacancy
A Pastry SousChef, will work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to manageaspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and TeamMember experience. A Pastry Sous Chef will also be required tomanage food provisions, assist with guest queries, and controlcosts. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing thefollowing tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist running the pastry section of thekitchen
- Manage all aspects of the pastrykitchen including operational, quality and administrativefunctions
- Ensure excellent quality throughoutthe dessert offerings
- Bring creativity to thepastry offerings
- Supervise and coordinate allpastry and dessert preparation and presentation
- Plan production to facilitate dailyrequirements
- Develop appropriate seasonal menuofferings
- Manage food cost controls tocontribute to Food and Beverage revenue
- Ensurecompliance with food hygiene and Health and Safetyregulations
- Manage customer relations whennecessary, in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef
- Control costs without compromising standards, improvinggross profit margins and other departmental and financialtargets
- Support brand standards through thetraining and assessment of the Team
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain theattitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
- A minimum of 2 years as a Pastry Chef dePartie or Pastry Sous Chef Experience with high volume foodproduction
- Approaches pastry in a creativeway
- Strong supervisory skills
- A current, valid, and relevant trade qualification (proofmay be required)
- Positive attitude
- Good communication skills
- Committedto delivering a high level of customer service
- Excellent grooming standards
- Excellent planning and organising skills
- Dedicated to the delivery of exceptional service andcontinuous improvement
It would beadvantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the followingcapabilities and distinctions:
- Relevant qualifications for role
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends,days, afternoons and evenings
- Proficiency withcomputers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Exceland Outlook
