<p>Provides supervision and direct support in the creation of alternative formats for use by students, faculty, and staff.</p><p>1. Develops and implements policies and procedures relating to alternative format production.<br />2. Converts digital and hardcopy materials into alternative formats.<br />3. Assures quality of production and on-time delivery of alternative formats.<br />4. Consults with faculty, staff, and students to provide training and guidance on alternative formats.<br />5. Maintains detailed records of alternate media transactions in the case management system.<br />6. Develops and implements alternative format training opportunities for faculty, staff, and students.<br />7. Facilitates the captioning and transcription of audio, video, and other multimedia content.<br />8. Hires and supervises student employees.<br />9. Responsible for onboarding and training of student employees.<br />10. Researches and recommends the purchase of technology and software used in creating alternative formats.<br />11. Ability to work under pressure with frequent deadlines, making thoughtful decisions with speed and accuracy.<br />12. Supervises the operation and maintenance of all alternative format equipment and software.<br />13. Actively promotes a customer-oriented approach throughout IT Services.<br />14. Participates in professional development activities.<br />15. May occasionally teach one credit-bearing course, per semester, on an as-needed basis and with division approval.<br />16. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.</p><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><p>• Require Bachelor’s degree earned by date of hire.<br />• Require two years’ experience with alternative format production.<br /><br />• This position is available to persons who are currently located and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.) Additionally, this position is available to persons who currently hold an H1-B Visa sponsored by IT Services, Miami University.</p><p>Desired Qualifications:</p><p>• Master’s Degree<br />• Advanced knowledge and experience creating accessible documents.<br />• Knowledge and experience with Universal Design for Learning.<br />• Experience using an electronic case management system.<br />• Strong communication, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.<br />• Knowledge and experience with computer and assistive technologies; disability practices and procedures.<br />• Knowledge of disability law, including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504).<br />• Knowledge and experience with web site design, including basic knowledge of HTML and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.<br />• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.<br />• Ability to work independently, in a team, and with or without direction.<br />• Customer service skills; including diplomatically, patiently, and successfully handling complaints, problems, questions, conflict, and suggestions.<br />• Accessibility certifications through organizations such as IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals).</p><p> </p><p>Miami University, an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer, encourages applications from minorities, women, protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
