Freelance Content Writer

This Is Why I’m Broke is an online magazine featuring all of the most interesting, unique, must-have products and gift ideas you can only find on the web.

We are looking for Freelance Content Writers to join our team and contribute to our daily publishing efforts. This is a freelance position with potential for a long-term relationship.

In this role you will:

– Ghostwrite short engaging product descriptions for 3-5 gift guides per week covering a wide range of topics and categories

– Conduct independent topic and product research for assigned gift guides

– Have strong attention to grammar, readability, style & accuracy of product information

– Ensure that copy is optimized for SEO

The ideal candidate has:

– Background or education in English, Creative Writing, Marketing, Journalism or related

– 2+ years experience copywriting/ content writing for web, e-commerce or editorial

– A solid sense of humor and entrepreneurial self-starter attitude

– Experience working remotely with excellent time management

– Excellent writing, proofreading and grammar skills

– Familiarity with SEO best practices
