Non-Fiction Book Ghostwriter
Can you spot a good story a mile away? More importantly, are you skilled at helping others find that great story from within, helping them organize it and put it on paper?
If you have experience writing non-fiction books for other people and you can help a sometimes scattered and overwhelmed mind organize and focus around a goal to complete a manuscript … then please keep reading! And, bonus points if you can double as a motivational coach when someone begins to doubt their book or waivers on their commitment to their project.
Finding the best person for this role is the most important thing. We’d love to have you in Los Angeles, but the work is done remotely, so as long as you’re in North America (And preferably the US, we are happy to consider you for the position).
What is your role?
Support our entrepreneur and business professional clients to create a clear outline for their book based on the hook of their book, put together a plan to draft that book, and work with the client to capture their voice and write the manuscript with them.
How we help them get to a first draft varies by client. For some, it’s purely a coaching role. You are their support system, guiding light, and accountability partner. For many clients, you are assisting them with the writing. They provide the content, and you help organize it, clean it up, and fill in a few blanks in the author’s voice. Sometimes you’re interviewing them weekly, other times you’re taking their podcast episodes or blog posts and weaving them into the material of the book. And, sometimes you’re doing a manuscript rewrite as we take an existing book and rework it into something that is much more engaging.
Our hasthag is #noboringbooks so it’s important that every book have emotion, story, and be reader focused. We also like to think about marketing the book when we’re writing it!
Regardless of how we get to a first draft, you will play a key role in helping each client fulfill their dream of writing, publishing and selling a book.
Pay will vary per contract.
