UI/UX Designer

The UI/UX Designer will lead the user experience design process to create meaningful and relevant user experiences by utilizing research, information architecture, visual design and design technology skills. The UI/UX Designer must have the ability to translate high-level requirements into simplified content strategies and interactive workflows that enable users to complete complex tasks easily and effectively. The UI/UX Designer must work well in a team setting and have excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, and time management skills.  

 

Description of Duties: 

Collaborates with product owner and technical partners in ideation sessions to identify, define and create innovative solutions for high-level requirements. 

Provides innovative/creative ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex requirements. 

Organizes and labels content to support usability and findability. 

Uses UI principles of design and other user research studies to guide design decisions/strategies. 

Creates interactive prototypes, wireframes, and design guides to model and convey animation, interaction, and visual designs. 

Uses imagery, color, shapes, typography, and other visual design skills to enhance usability and improve the user experience. 

Creates and provides custom images, icons, and other digital assets as needed.  

Clearly presents and articulates design ideas/strategies to product owner and technical partners in UX architecture review sessions. 

Follows and evangelizes UI/UX best practices and standards.  

Performs UX reviews with developers to ensure products are being created to specs. 

Performs user acceptance testing and heuristic evaluations to help identify product deficiencies. 

Is comfortable working in a 100% remote environment. 

 

Required Skills and Knowledge 

Demonstrable UI/UX design expertise with a strong portfolio, and a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. 

Experience with rapid prototyping. 

Proficient in tools like Adobe XD, pragma, Illustrator, proto.io or similar. 

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process. 

Effective at presenting and negotiating proposed designs. 

Solve problems creatively and effectively. 

Strong communication and collaboration skills (to both business and technical partners) 

  

Not Required but a Plus 

Experience in HTML, Javascript and CSS 

Understanding of HTML, Javascript and CSS limitations and effort 

Understanding of and/or experience in Responsive Web Design
