Software Developer
Working with us means working directly with live, high-profile end clients and shaping the future of our product. You’ll be dealing with very large, real datasets from a wide range of sensor types and use cases – with data processed in real time.
You’ll work in DynamoDB, Docker, Python, Django, Travis and AWS Lambda. We’re looking for you to join so you can help scale out a distributed architecture for lots of different data sources and lots of different live clients. You’ll be working on a greenfield project where everything is hosted in AWS and everything is automated.
You’ll work alongside a very small team, meaning you’ll have loads of responsibility and will make a huge impact on our architecture processes. We offer a highly flexible working environment, with the ability to work both from home and our London office. The work will be challenging, but fun; you’ll work at the cutting edge of IoT and learn a huge amount. Most of all, we offer the opportunity to help shape the future of IoT for end users globally.
Must have:
- 3 to 10 years of experience as a software developer
- At least 2-3 years commercial Python experience
- At least one small to a medium-sized web-based company (or a company that builds some kind of distributed system)
Very important:
- Python knowledge gained in a web context using Django or Flask
- API development experience
Desirable:
- AWS or Cloud development experience
- Worked for a reputable company (ie a company with high standards of code quality)
- Microservices experience
- Stayed longer (>1 year) at one company
- Some kind of side project, open-source, technical blog, etc
Personality traits:
- Professional attitude
- Cares about software craft
- Someone who is eager to build and ship stuff
- Someone who will be proactive and motivated by ownership and the opportunity to have a lot of control
